An Emerging Ethos

Jeffrey Tucker describes populism:

"Neither left nor right, it borrows themes from both. From the so-called 'Right,' it derives confidence that people in their own lives and communities have a better capacity for wise decision-making than trusting authorities. From the old Left, it takes the demand for free speech, fundamental rights, and a deep suspicion of corporate and government power.

Being skeptical of entrenched elites is the salient point.”
